Trump Will Overplay His Hand. Here's How to Be Ready.

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/12/01/anti-trumpists-guide-next-four-years-00191724

Nothing is more meaningful than being part of a struggle for democracy.... The answer to political defeat is not to disconnect, but to organize. You can take a couple of days or weeks off, commiserate with friends and mute Elon Musk on X — or erase the app altogether. But in the end, the best way to develop emotional resilience is greater engagement.

The media is not our friend right now. And maybe not again. They may have a point here, but I cannot spare them the clicks to read it.

However, it will be infighting in the right wing that will boil over. Unelected clowns like Musk & co trying to keep butting in, staffers trying to cut them out. A real circus. Remember that freaky Atlantic magazine cover from a few weeks ago? Yikes.

I can't tell if he actually thinks winning the popular vote was a mandate or if he's just running his usual playbook tactics to push the envelope on how much he can get away with...

He's already acting the part of a dictator. If the Senate confirms his unfit Cabinet nominees, it will take more than positive thinking to shut him down. If they don't confirm and force him to pick competent people, Democracy will have won the first battle.

But all the crazy stuff he talks about doing, ain't going to end well. How soon the end comes...?

Trump was beatable in this election, but only with a more captivating candidate, as Nancy Pelosi has been hinting. For Democrats, the fundamental mistake after smartly pushing aside President Joe Biden was bypassing the primaries and handpicking a candidate.

Doing another primary with only a couple months before the election would have been a disaster, if it was even legally possible. And I think both Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are very captivating, each in their own way. That’s what’s so discouraging—if such a large chunk of Americans think that that vindictive narcissistic ignoramus is “captivating”, then there is no competent qualified candidate that could ever appeal to them.

There are 3,144 primaries. Getting every county to run a new primary election (and getting candidates on all the ballots) would have been an impossibility.

At the same time, all the gloom and doom about there never going to be elections again: there is not one election, or 50, but 3,144 elections.
