The whole country is going to roll over and accept it.
It took a LOT of normalizing complete lunacy to get us here, and they will have four years to throw relentless gaslighting bullshit left and right unchecked.
We will pretty much be Russia in four years.

I don't think we could descend to that level in four decades.

America died for me on election night. Fuck Trump and all who voted for him. Now I'm just sitting back eating popcorn and watching America go to hell. (I'm old and will be dead soon enough. I don't care anymore.)

To be honest, I've never felt better. No more stress and drama. Just popcorn. 🍿

(Germany recovered. It took a generation, but they did. AND they elected a woman leader!! So if you're young,, there's still hope )

We survived the civil war and the backlash against the civil rights movement, we survived prohibition. Go find something local to do that fills your soul. The news is designed to attract attention. So ugly things tend to lead. And liberal news sources are going to be leading with the most dramatic takes to stir up viewership. Same way the Red Cross is always having an urgent crisis for blood donations and campaigns swear they are doomed without your donation. They learned it sells.

Go volunteer, go see a play, go for a hike. Stop looking only at things that depress you.

Neither did he have the SCOTUS' blessing of immunity. I will continue to work and fight but I honestly have doubts we'll see a free and fair election in two years.

Four years of fawning obsequious coverage by a frightened cowardly puppet newsmedia will take a heavy toll. The rise of generative AI will further strain our abilities to discern truth from fiction. Meanwhile, the climate will continue to change, unchecked and even accelerated through policies of gross negligence.

Our institutions have failed to protect us, we face dark days ahead.

Our country will be frayed and tattered, but it will still be here. It is up to us to determine
whether we recover or go the way of History's dustbin.

no.

as a balkanized dysfunctional mass of state coalitions and anarchial areas? seems more likely.

the trump/rfk health plan ("it will go away, on its own, in 2 weeks"&quot could be deadly for millions. wandering death squads seems likely.

but i am an optimist.
