(1,219 posts)If you feed her can food
Open can and hit it with spoon
If you feed her dry take bag and shake it
Or a bag of treats
Call her name and say kitty, kitty, kitty
It may sound crazy but try it
She knows your voice
Keep us updated!

(2,910 posts)Ran in, I sat down
She was in her spot,
On the arm rest
Good for her
And she is a bit freaked out.
I adopted her as a" indoor only"
First time she ran
She obviously hated outside shes on my chest.
She's a mute, can't meow, but I touch her throat now,
Her whole body is purring

(13,611 posts)She'll hunker down and hide for a while, under a bush or a nearby porch or crawlspace.
Don't put a lot of food out, just a bit.
It may take a few hours or even days. Let your neighbors know to keep an eye out for her.
Listen for a cat crying. Go that way slowly, call her name, make coaxing noises.
Pick her up gently if you can, if not, make sure she sees you open the door and leave it open with more stinky food just inside until she comes in like nothing happened, lil stinker...
It may take 15 minutes to an hour once she's seen you and the open door.
If it takes longer than that, leave a stinky old shirt of yours and a cushion she likes in a box on its side next to your door.
She will come back to that and you'll probably find her curled up there sometime after dark or in the morning.
Cats don't like new experiences very much.
She'll want to be back inside where it's safe once she's aware she's not someplace familiar.
I've had that happen with my fur balls more than a couple times over the years.
On edit - I see she made it back home. 😸
