(18,194 posts)There's an extension for Firefox and other browsers called NoScript. It allows you to control which server-side scripts can run in your browser.
I have Facebook marked as Untrusted. While browsing the web, I see no indication that facebook even exists; all traces of it are blocked from my browser.
It takes a little time and effort to 'train' NoScript according to your preferences but it can be done.

(18,194 posts)Mark Zukerberg owns the domain name/s and the servers and the infrastructure. It's slightly foolish to even talk about deleting a whole website that belongs to someone else. That's not how the internet works.
If banishing it from your own browser is not satisfactory, perhaps you should consider pulling the plug on your device and giving the web a miss completely.

The physical location is the old Sun complex in Menlo Park, CA. DO NOT physically attack it. I'm just sorry it lost all its class when Sun left it.

Click your profile picture in the top right corner
Select Settings & privacy
Click Settings
Click Your Facebook Information
Click Deactivation and Deletion
Select Delete Account
Click Continue to account deletion
Click Delete Account again
Enter your password
Click Continue
Before deleting your account, you can back up any data you want to keep, such as photos, contacts, and posts. You can download an archive of your account data by going to Settings & Privacy > Settings > Your Facebook Information.
You can also deactivate your Facebook account, which temporarily removes your account activity. You can reactivate your account at any time. While deactivated, other users won't be able to see your profile, but they may be able to see messages you've sent them.

(7,525 posts)many years since my discust with the little prick but my email is inundated with posts from FB. It says I have 99 + everyday and I sit here deleting and it still says the same so I want this to stop .
