Republicans plan to destroy Medicare and blame it on Democrats:

https://www.rawstory.com/trump-social-security-cuts-1/
Republicans have said that Democrats need to come to their senses and join them in cutting Medicare and Social Security.

It's a trap.

It's the same trap they kept trying to push Obama into in his first administration after the 2009 crisis:

In the budget-negotiations with Obama, the Republicans demanded budget-cuts but REFUSED TO SAY what cuts they want. They just kept rejecting his ideas for cuts and demanding that he come up with new ones. Again and again and again and again.
AT THE SAME TIME in interviews, Republicans were pre-blaming Democrats for the impending destruction of Medicare... which wasn't even on the table... yet.

Their plan was to pressure Obama until he had no options left but to propose cuts to Medicare. And THEN Republicans could vote for those cuts while blaming the origin of the idea on Democrats.
Obama stopped their plan by refusing to endlessly come up with new ideas for budget-cuts. He asked THEM for what to cut. And that shut them up instantly.

The current republican plan is similar: Get Democrats to vote with Republicans on cutting Medicare.

Then you have the perfect dilemma:
Republicans can take credit for destroying Medicare while simultaneously blaming it on Democrats.

And the plan would work: Because voters are dumb and media only cares about rage-bait.

Trump is in the position of Obama and he will sign the cuts that the Republicans send to him.

And Jeffries are making conciliatory statements. Instead of coming out a stating clearly:

No. Fuck no. Do it yourselves!

I want nothing to get done that inflicts pain on the American people - even if they throw us a bone.

their health insurance plans, their pension plans, and any other perks.

Almost all of them are far richer than your average American. Let them buy their own healthcare and retirement plans.

Oh, and eliminate the $176,000 (in 2025) cap on Social Security. Make people earning more than that pay Social Security taxes on their earned income AND on their capital gains.

and I'm guessing many republicans would end up dead from public outrage.

Probe Launched After Mystery Illness Kills Dozens in Congo

A flu-like disease that has killed dozens of people over two weeks is being investigated in southwestern Congo, local authorities said. The deaths were recorded between Nov. 10 and Nov. 25 in the Panzi health zone of the Kwango province. Symptoms include fever, headache, cough, and anemia, provincial health minister Apollinaire Yumba told reporters over the weekend. The deputy provincial governor, Remy Saki, told the AP on Tuesday that between 67 and 143 people had died. "A team of epidemiological experts is expected in the region to take samples and identify the problem," he added.

Yumba advised the population to exercise caution and refrain from contact with dead bodies to avoid contamination. He also called on national and international partners to send medical supplies to deal with the health crisis. Congo is already plagued by the mpox epidemic, with more than 47,000 suspected cases and upward of 1,000 suspected deaths from the disease in the Central African country, according to the World Health Organization. WHO is aware of the unidentified disease and has a team on the ground working with local health services to collect samples, according to an organization employee.

Each and every time, and the attack on Medicare serves two purposes. They want to give it to Wall Street yes, but it's also another shock doctrine maneuver. While this "crises" is going on, Republicans are going to sneak in ways to help manipulate voting at the federal level. They're going after voting. That's their end game.

If they can move Medicare to Wall Street, or more of it at least, well that's just gravy.
