A better example of an actual stupid gop senator would be Tommy Tuberville.

(6,089 posts)Didn't he have to do extensive strategizing, memorize plays, etc.? He seems so dumb it's difficult to imagine him leading a team. But, I'm not a sports person, so perhaps there's some angle that would account for his success, e.g. the assistant coaches did the heavy lifting.

(70,303 posts)...coaching at southern schools (Except Cincinnati) so he was good at recruiting good athletes to his schools.
He probably had good coordinators doing the strategy & tactics. He was more a general manager.
And he wasn't an all-time great coach. Had a middling, though winning, lifetime record.
He's never going to be in the "Top 10 College Coaches Ever" conversation. So, we shouldn't overrate his acumen in strategy.

"You can never rein in spending or eliminate wasteful or harmful federal programs if you fail to pass budget bills," he concluded. "Id rather let a lapse in spending kick in on Dec. 20 until the new Trump administration takes over in January 2025." - (Raggedy) Andy Biggs
The master was former Rep. and dumbass extraordinaire Steve King. (R-IA).

(2,118 posts)members of Congress. The scale uses the Flesch-Kincaid test and is based on the length of words and sentences used. Among its findings are, Congress now speaks at almost a full grade level lower than it did just seven years ago, with the most conservative members of Congress speaking on average at the lowest grade level. The study further found that it is the most extreme members who speak at the lowest grade levels, as well as the most junior.

No question that it has gotten even worse in the 12 years since. (As you can guess, the top 10 worst were all Republicans). 3 of them are still serving in Congress.
3. Rand Paul, R-KY: The son of cranky Libertarian Ron Paul, Rand is such a strong advocate of the free market that he opposes the parts of the Civil Rights Act that prohibit businesses from engaging in discrimination. He believes so firmly in personal responsibility that he wanted to let BP off the hook after its oil rig exploded, killing 11 workers and flooding the Gulf with toxins. He called criticism of BP really un-American. More recently, he said of Obamas support for same-sex marriage, Call me cynical, but I didnt think his views on marriage could get any gayer.
9. David Schweikert, R-AZ: Perhaps the poster child for this list is Rep. Schweikert, who was asked a question about the health insurance mandate provision in the Affordable Care Act, and whether he thought it was fair that prior to the ACA someone could incur medical expenses but not pay for them, raising the cost of health care for everyone else. He responded, You have the right as an American to be dumb. And he is fully exercising his rights.
10. Ron Johnson, R-WI: Johnson has been a harsh critic of the government stimulus bills. But somehow that didnt stop him from seeking stimulus funds for renovations to the Grand Opera House when he was president of the venues board. His explanation when asked to justify the apparent hypocrisy was that he may have asked a question or two, but that doesnt mean he supports the stimulus effort or even wanted the money. Of course not. He was just curious to see if they would hand over the cash, which he would have promptly returned.
And honorable mention goes to one who has been nominated for Trump's cabinet.
4. Sean Duffy, R-WI: At a town hall meeting in Wisconsin, Duffy was asked whether hed vote to cut his $174,000 congressional salary. He proceeded to whine about how $174,000 really isnt that much: I guarantee that I have more debt than all of you. With six kids, I still pay off my student loans. I still pay my mortgage. Sounds like he could benefit from Obamas proposals to reform mortgage and student loan debt.

(10,989 posts)she's on the third lowest rung of the Senate ladder, just above RoJo, who is just (barely) above Tuberville. I think they were all hoping Herschel Walker would get elected a couple of years ago so they could move up, but the voters of Georgia had better sense.

A completely trashy man, apparently just what Oklahoma wants and deserves.
