I used to live in Monroe County, Ohio, and joined a group on facebook where members post doings in the county. Woodsfield, the county seat, is having an ornament walk on the square. Someone in the group mentioned they will have fresh, homebaked bread and other items for sale during the walk, and *all proceeds from this bake sale will go toward a family member's surgeries* How sad it is that some families are come to this?
Monroe County was blue when I lived there, and has turned red since. I imagine that low incomes and faux news had a lot to do with the change in voting. And families having to hold bake sales to pay for medical care won't change many outlooks there.

Every damn time I think to myself, This is absurd. In no other country do communities organize bake sales to pay for a loved ones medical bills.
