Try This Experiment for One Week

Pick one of the broadcast TV networks, ABC, CBS, or NBC. Then, early morning at 6/7 AM or afternoon at 5/6 PM, tune in your local network affiliate on your TV. No cable? Hook up a cheap indoor antenna and watch it. Your Smart TV will pick it up just fine. It's free. There are commercials.

Now, watch the local news broadcast and the half hour of national news from that network. Doesn't matter which network.

Do that for a week.

Then come back here to DU and give us your opinion about what you saw, compared to whatever other news sources you check out.

1. I've watched local and network news regularly.

So I’m not quite following instructions here but my experience has been that our local networks are ABC (local news by Sinclair) CBS (seems the least affiliated) NBC (you know…) and FOX. The two obvious right-leaners don’t disappoint. They lead with the Seattle hellscape stories and Sinclair is full of local “polls” that skew heavily right as well. They’re actually worse than FOX, which of course has no national news because, well, FOX. NBC seems reasonably down the middle on both fronts. I find I rather like the national news because it’s not all politics. Believe it or not, things are happening out there!

2. Most local news stations are owned and controlled by rightwing sinclair group.

I'd rather not expose myself to that stuff.
