Bring back the 1950s...

...no, not the racism, misogyny, and all around ugliness that Trump and the Trump party represent, but
bring back the effective tax rates. Under (R) Pres. Eisenhower, you had a 91% top marginal income tax rate,
and no one called him a "communist, marxist, socialist, etc."

Bring back the days when 1 income could support an entire family of 4 or 5.

I wish the GOP and average, middle class and yes, working class Republicans could realize that the GOP does not have their best interests at heart.

I had to wear crinolines in the 1950's. Itchy, scratchy crinolines.

All kidding aside, you do have a point.

6. Damn, I loved my crinolines. But, you're right, they do have a point. A really important one. What happened?

7. You could see the smoke swirling up from Brinkley's ashtray while he was reporting the news. Good times.

I loved Huntley/Brinkley though. Just the news and no fluff.

Less than 10k households in 1950 paid the top rate... and the the top 1% paid LESS taxes than they do today.

This is a common mistake... in reality almost NO ONE paid top marginal rates.

4. According to that data, the top 1% are paying a much higher amount of the total taxes collected then they were back then

Now it's 40% and back in the 50's it was 30-35%
