Where are our democratic elected officials. I hear them asking for $$

I hear them asking to not tune out. Yet they are silent in their words against Trump. Is it fear. Is it politics.

Did they lie to us when said they believed he was a threat to democracy?

Some even asking to give him a pardon for everything.

Being cordial and nice when he would do no such thing in return.

Most of all the silence is deafening.

What the hell is going on with our party?

is where a lot of them are going.

They still ask for money daily, but we don't see even a little bit of resistance. They seem to be, with a very few notable exceptions, ready to surrender in every way.

I've seen posts about obeying in advance. That's what our elected Dems seem to be doing.

And yes, I know there might be 'things going on behind the scenes"....what things? Looking for more appeasements? Deciding which Dems are up next to say "he won't be so bad!"? ETA: or my favorite "Biden needs to pardon him!".

okay, i'm answering my own question:
fetterman
clyborn would support one
manchin (who doesn't count)
and:

In addition, Douglas Schoen, a longtime adviser to President Clinton and a Democrat pollster and Robert Green, a Democratic strategist, authored an op-ed for Fox News saying Mr. Trump should receive a pardon.

I do think their presence on MSM is vital to presenting the Dems efforts and ideology to the US voters, that said, they need to mobilize us Left-Liberals to action, even if that is just asking for monetary support

understand why they are still asking for money. I kept getting emails from Harris campaign three weeks after the election. I was annoyed getting several a day long after the election, so I unsubscribed.

Where is the opposition? This is not right, this is not normal, this is unAmerican and it is our nightmare coming into being. We are now all officially Germans in the early '40's and the other shoe is definitely falling soon.

Pardon me if I misread your entry, but that is what it sounds like.

What I understand is that Biden is being asked to pardon everyone to make sure the SOB cannot go after his personal enemies, but I have not heard of any Democrat asking trump for a pardon. Maybe you needed to expand on that line?

I'm sure there are others.

I have no idea why it would even be an idea other than a few pundits included him in the list of people Biden should pardon if he decides to become a "pardon machine". Buncha shit, as my father would have said.

We should have taken to the streets when DT was not arrested after the 2020 election. I also am tired of people trying to placate others that our leaders are doing what they can. People are going to die because of that orange pos.

I suspect they are also waiting for Trump to do things before opposing him. I have heard official Democrats rejecting the worst of Trump's appointments. It may be that they think their opposition will be more successful in gaining support if it seem as in response to Trump.

As to their calls during the election that democracy is at risk, I suspect they viewed that as very possible, but they are dealing with the fact that the majority of the country either did not think they were correct or worse did not see losing democracy as a negative.

I wonder if they themselves are trying to figure out any path we have to avoiding the worst. The fact is there is a far right SC, and the Republicans control the Presidency, the Senate and the House. I wonder if their current relatively low key opposition might be that in the House and Senate they are looking for Republican defectors on important issues. If they exist and when those issues arise, that might be the time to generate enough support for our position to make their rejection of the Trump extreme more likely.

I also suspect that after the entire Biden term of rejecting and legislation on things like immigration, they might support something like the bill Biden would have signed. Of course, they will claim theirs is entirely different and much better. A bipartisan bill may be needed on everything because the House majority coupled with the number of crazies.

I think the difference between our officials and theirs is that ours strongly believe in the need for government to work, while a large group of theirs are fine with inertia. Unfairly, this sometimes means that they pass things that were long worked on by us that they opposed for years like the criminal reform in the first term - a bill similar to things Durbin worked on for years.

They couldn't abandon Al Gore and his fight to have the uncounted Florida votes counted fast enough and they've been surrendering and appeasing the repug election stealers ever since. The dems keep bringing a sling shot to the fight while the repugs are bringing AK-47s. I haven't given a penny since 2000 and I never will.
