Let me make this pellucidly clear

Nixon won a huge mandate in November 1972 and resigned in August 1974.
I dare you to lock up the J6 Committee or anyone from the Biden administration.

2. Different times. Nixon was largely a one man criminal operation.

Ok, he had a few plumbers and ratf*ckers, but mostly it was a small operation that relied heavily on secrecy to get away with it. Once it was properly exposed and reasonably linked to him, it quickly fell apart.

Today's right-wing movement has captured the entire Republican Party and most of the media. They can and will get away with much, much more than Nixon could have ever dreamed of.

Now, they have displayed a certain incrementalism, so it not sure they'd brazenly lock up political opponents without some clear criminal charge that at least seems plausible (like getting Hunter for technical violations that normally don't result in formal charges), but we shall see.

I suspect they'll start there, I'm sure they can find someone that technically broke some law, however obscure. Then they will build from there.

4. The difference is that Democrats controlled both the House (241-192) and Senate (56-42) back then.

7. I hope that happens and it could make things interesting if the Democrats stick together on holding Trump accountable.
