This GROSS unfairness is killing us.

(8,453 posts)the madness but instead out SEC promoted it by allowing easier access by approving ETFs at our financial institutions. And now we have a incoming administration that is actually promoting it.
This cannot end well and although it is not backed by anything I can see where there might be a call to bail out a major crash.....does "too big to fail" ring a bell?

(1,468 posts)with a little help from the government---
two hours and I would be fine, I am very frugal...
working only a very few hours per week at that rate, and I would be obscenely wealthy
according to my personal needs...
but no one has offered me that pay rate, unfortunately the only ones
who seem able to command such wages are corporate CEOs
who ought to have a target on their backs,
and now some of them DO.
(I don't advocate violence--- but whatever happens at night in my dreams is my own business)
Yeah, that whole situation is obscene

(1,105 posts)That is what makes it so hard to fix.
None of their lies have any meaning without the complicity of major news outlets to broadcast, and reinforce, the false narrative perpetrated by the obscenely wealthy and their sycophants.
They make me say bad words, and think dark thoughts. VERY dark thoughts. But then the Sun comes out and it's all rainbows and butterflies. I wish.

(15,941 posts)The Reich has been able to convince Americans making $45-$50K a year, with shitty benefits and no pensions, that their real enemies are their fellow Americans making $47-$52K a year, with decent benefits and a pension.
I also think that, quite a few of those making $45-$50K a year, believe that if we just cut taxes and regulations, they too could be as rich as Eloon.
Here is an experiment:
If, from the day you were born, you saved $100 a day, EVERY DAY, it would take you 9,589,065 YEARS! to accumulate as much money as Eloon.
He's still not satisfied.

(1,198 posts)Recently, the GOPs leader lied about Californias minimum wage increase. He lied claiming fast food restaurants have suffered as a consequence and prices have risen exorbitantly.
This was utter hogwash as much of what the GOP spouts is.
https://popular.info/p/what-really-happened-after-california
The price of a hamburger rose about fifteen cents. The horror! Meanwhile, more Californians can actually afford to live.
