The narrative that cannot be changed...

No matter how hard they try, the story will simply not go away.

What happened on January 6th, 2021, is seared into the minds of too many Americans, for even the world's best propagandists to change.

The mastermind behind the plot, and the act of insurrection, keeps proclaiming his innocence and threatening to jail those that investigated the dastardly act. He says they should all be "jailed" for what they did to him. Never mind what he did to all of America.

But, he has been trying to change the narrative for 4 years without success. What the people saw and heard on January 6th cannot be forgotten. It cannot be changed. The reality overpowers the alternate reality they desire.

Nothing has really changed since January 6th, except that many Americans seemed to have no problem with the attack upon the symbol of our democracy.

They tell themselves that it really wasn’t that bad and therefore they don’t have to worry about it.

When Jan 20 arrives and the chaos starts, I'd bet my bottom dollar that the MAGAS will say all the problems are still the fault of the Dem's and President Biden.

If you have a MAGA in the family, be prepared for a load of baloney. I keep trying with my family in Florida but every time I talk about anything political, all they do is laugh.

They will complain if any benefit they receive has changed and has an effect on them. They will excuse every action of the ridiculous cabinet members.
To them, there is no logic other than their own.

Both family members are educated and have worked all their lives and are now retired. Both are in their 70's and have health issues..
They assure me that trump will never cut S.S. and Medicare.
I bet they will scream if this awful thing happens...and they will find an excuse to defend trump.

I can't stand this aspect of family communication. Love them but...damn, they are smart but dumb as bricks.

Hell yes, burn the place down..Ashley!Ashley. So 19% of the voters had to decide that the browns should go home, Jesus told me to vote for him, black people are taking over, the baby killers are here, women need to listen to the men! Including 1/6 there were many terrible reason for the votes he received. There was no thinking or persuading done. Simple selfish votes that will come back to haunt us all!

I think they're so ambitious with their plans to cut, change, deconstruct, fire, jail, hurt...then crow about their success, will bite them a year of so into the dictator's presidency.

Threatening to jail any member of Congress for participating in a congressional investigation into his criminal acts is just more Trump bullshit.

Pretty sure the oft-repeated claim of destruction of evidence could be charged as a felony.

Failing that, I doubt Bondi would have any problem charging treason, regardless of the fact it's absurd. The point here, I believe, is less to gain convictions than to intimidate.

My Opinion:

We should /always/ refer to it as a 'failed attempted coup'. We should not call them Capitol rioters, they should /always/ be called Insurrectionists.

Language Matters, and we are letting them gaslight us. This is how they rewrite history.

Ask about Tiananmen in China today.

There is no unified narrative. roughly 1/4 of Americans believe jan6 was righteous. 1/4 believe it was an attack on our country. and 1/2 are either too young or literally dont give enough of a fuck about it to bother to vote.

And the 1/4 who think it was righteous are the ones who will control every lever of power (all three branches of government, plus the media and much of private business) in this country for minimum 2 years, possibly significantly longer. Barring the unforeseen, they will be the ones ordering, writing, and distributing the textbooks on the matter.

But the facts speak for themselves:

The Capitol was attacked.

The attack was incited by the President, Donald Trump.

They believed they were "stopping the steal".

Dozens of law enforcement were injured in attempting to protect the Capitol.

Although they said the election was stolen, they never provided any evidence of that fact.

It was a big lie.

That was the time to go after Trump and those in his circle who planned and orchestrated it. Waiting years to prosecute let the searing dissolve into a vapor and disappear.
Maybe that was the plan all along.

Although they wanted it to go away.

They wanted it to be a "patriotic" act. They were stopping the steal. They were following the orders of their "Commander in Chief". They believed all the lies.

But Trump is still talking about it after all this time. He wants to imprison those responsible for investigating it to find the truth. They discovered evidence of election interference and attempted overturn of an election.

But, if that truth remains, how would he ever go down in history as a "great" president? His worst fear is to have the legacy of a "loser".

Listen to Republicans in Congress the night of Jan. 6 compared to today? Half of America thinks he's the aggreived party and the insurrectionists are patriots. They re-elected him. If we don't get him out of power somehow, that's how it will go down in history. History is written by the victors.

The changed narrative on J6 is one of the biggest scams in history. He got us to believe what he said and not what we saw with our own eyes. This is how you get fascism.
