It's Interesting That the Police Are Taking Credit for the Capture.

Not much mention by law enforcement about the person in that McDonalds that spotted him and generated the call to police that led to the arrest. It was the "hard work by law enforcement" they're saying.

Not much mention by the cops at all of the McDonalds folks. I find that interesting. A bit disturbing, too.

Yes, they did. I don't think they were considering Altoona, though, MineralMan Tuesday #4

That tipster in McDonald's is no fool. He/she wants that 50k rewardl brush Tuesday #3
Should get that reward, too. I hope that happens. MineralMan Tuesday #5
Lots of talk that he won't be getting paid, because he called 911, not the tip line. Hellbound Hellhound Tuesday #7
That's a whole lot of wrong. 911 is reasonable move; and murderers need to be apprehended lostnfound Tuesday #17

And given the amount of cameras in NYC and footage needing review, it was probably pretty meticulous work.

Not sure why it's disturbing.

And given things, the person at McDonald's probably figures the less they're mentioned the better. The Internet's being a thing at the moment.

I bet they do, after the whistleblower gets a lawyer to represent them (lawyer for negotiating payment for interviews, etc.)

I want to see if the eyebrows tipped them off.

Apparently he kicked up a bit of a fuss on Twitter before he came to his senses (or was ordered to) and deleted the posts. I guess this is pretty common for those "Crimestopper"-style reward offerings.

Considering the Internet manhunt now underway to find the Tipster, I don't think I'd want the 60k just to avoid the inevitable backlash and becoming a hated public figure. Poor guy's gonna end up getting doxxed and Swatted every day for the next three or four months.

Regardless of who they murder.
Otherwise the US turns into a lawless sh**** country.

Wisely, whoever is involved is staying out of the public's eye. Smart.

Mangione was sitting in the rear of the McDonald's wearing a blue medical mask and looking at a laptop computer, court documents said. A customer saw him and an employee called 911, said Kaz Daughtry, an NYPD deputy.
