GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell tripped on Tuesday, spraining his wrist and sustaining “a minor cut to the face,” his office said in a statement.

The incident is the latest in a high-profile string of health issues for the 82-year-old Kentucky Republican.

“Leader McConnell tripped following lunch. He sustained a minor cut to the face and sprained his wrist. He has been cleared to resume his schedule,” a McConnell spokesman said in a statement.

McConnell is expected to continue to serve in his Senate seat until his term expires in January 2027.

Your sell-by date came and went long ago, itchy mitchy.

And you know the maga fascists don't want your wrinkly old butt around any way. I mean, you grovel, but you don't grovel quick enough or low enough to please His Felonious Nibs (R).

It's a nice old place. It has been about 17 years since I have been there.

Speaking of Mitch, one of my retired colleagues was on the Louisville city council with Mitch. My colleague is a Democrat and earned the Mitch's enmity.

He was planning to going to a rave tonight.

Elaine please make him some warm milk, and lay out his pajamas.

Things might be better in the morning,
if he finally expires.

The only downside is that you will have to do all of evil yourself.

Sad.

My 81+ yr old brother-in-law recently told me that once you reach 80, you can expect to fall.
Yeah, my balance is a bit shaky now that I'm 78.
So, I'm not surprised by McConnell's fall. Personally, aside from his politics, I think he should consider retirement at the end of his term in 2 years. He'll be 85 in February of 2027, and had several health related episodes in the last couple years.
