Luigi Mangione Shouts at Guards and Onlookers: 'Insult to the Intelligence of the American People!'

Luigi Mangione, the man arrested Monday in connection with last week’s killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, appeared to yell a message to members of the media Tuesday, Dec. 10, as he was being taken into court by law enforcement officers.

The incident was captured on video by local news cameras and shared on social media, showing the 26-year-old murder suspect struggling with police while trying to shout towards a crowd — which included reporters and cameras — gathered outside the courthouse.

Mangione’s hands were handcuffed behind his back as video shows him begin to turn to yell. One police officer held Mangione’s right arm while ushering him from a police vehicle into the courthouse, as four more officers rushed to help usher him into the building while he screamed.

"It's completely out of touch! It's an insult to the intelligence of the American people!" Mangione appeared to yell in the video.
