I somehow missed this -- "Immigrants' Resentment Over New Arrivals Helped Boost Trump's Popularity With Latino Voters"

This is specifically about *undocumented* immigrants who resent more recent arrivals and believe Trump will focus on the newer undocumented immigrants but leave those already here alone.

Bleh.

‘ Across the U.S., Latino immigrants who’ve been in the country a long time felt that asylum-seekers got preferential treatment. “Those of us who have been here for years get nothing,” said one woman from Mexico who has lived in Wisconsin for decades.’

They asylum seekers are going to be deported just as fast as undocumented immigrants - maybe even faster, because people who are here legally are easier to find.

I will feel bad for the women who are deported, not as much for the men.

White folks who feel a certain different way about immigrants don't care how long you have been here, that you are a citizen, veteran status or anything else. They look at you the same as someone who just got here and if you don't realize that you are in for an awful surprise.

They are resentful that the newer immigrants are getting “special ” benefits from the Biden administration that they never got.

How voting for Trump mitigates this, I don’t understand…..

I don't fucking know what these immigrants were doing to ruin society. It just feels like hate for hate sake. America is a bitter angry society.
