1. I'm glad we're talking about that rather than shining a spotlight on our abysmal health care system.

10. There is no evidence Luigi had any denials of care, his xrays show spinal repair. If he has a beef it's with doctors

who were unable to reverse nerve damage.

With that said, our healthcare system is awful. But I blame Congress -- both parties -- who has had 60 years to correct this mess and have failed miserably.

Everyone in this country is now hyper aware of the wickedness and evil of the health insurance industry in America.

Paisano Luigi struck a match.

and blowing up campus ROTC buildings. Ted Kaczynski hid out in a remote cabin in the woods and mailed out homemade bombs to protest Industrial Society. Luigi shot a healthcare CEO in the back with a ghost gun and suppressor he 3D-printed from online plans then became a social media hero. Methods change, people don't.

11. Luigi wasn't in that situation. No evidence of denials, he got treatment. Any beef he has appears to be with doctors.

children for a "cause" that will be discussed for a few weeks (and then, for the insurance industry and politicians gleefully buried among all other happenings).

Not for those rising numbers of Americans who can not get the critical medical care they need--or at least not without the benefit of knowledgeable friends, colleagues, and local experts willing to fight for them and certainly not without potential life-threatening or debilitating delays. Not without the rise in suicide rates --especially among the young and the old--for which this issue adds to the horrendous MAGA policies staring them in the face inciting an epidemic of hopelessness--just as MAGA intended.

There is nothing to celebrate. There are no heroes here—no martyrs to a cause. If we want to see change, as we simply MUST, we cannot latch onto this incident to make it happen. There will be nothing but blowback from now on. Of course, politicians are focusing on the violent crime and quickly separating themselves from discussions of the problems that likely had at least some part in inciting it. Those who want change need them to refocus on what it is we sent them to Congress or state legislatures or other offices to achieve. That can't happen at the end of a gun but such incidents can surely distract them away and excuse from acting at all.
