(7,140 posts)is going to start reviewing denials for private insurers in Medicare Advantage Plans and ACA.
Seems to me that is the best way to handle the "denial" issues until Congress does something. Audit them, then report results to consumers. Even original Medicare denies claims.

(96,757 posts)the way for the sociopath and his cult to occupy the WH, Congress, and the Supreme Court, by either not voting, voting for third party, or voting for trump, so all I can say is enjoy the next four years. The choice had never been clearer as it was in 2016, and they voted for billionaires to control their future, so eat it.

(121,224 posts)they will do whatever is necessary to maximize their profits. Since insurance is mostly unregulated, there's nothing to stop health insurers from denying coverage, delaying payouts, or generally jerking people around as long as they make more money doing that than paying claims. You'd think that employing the vast administrative staff necessary to fight people over every dime would be more expensive than just paying claims, but apparently it isn't. Unless Congress and state legislators get serious about regulating these pirates (which they won't), nothing will change, except that they'll increase security for their upper management and raise their premiums to cover the cost.
Mangione is a narcissist like the Unabomber, who also didn't change society by killing people.
