Elon Musk Gloats as Trump Announces Billionaires Will Be Exempt From Normal Environmental Rules

Trump has promised him that he will no longer have to abide by the pesky environmental rules that apply to lowly commoners.

On Tuesday, president-elect Donald Trump announced in a Truth Social post that any "person or company" investing $1 billion or more in the US would "receive fully expedited approvals and permits, including, but in no way limited to, all Environmental [sic] approvals."

"GET READY TO ROCK!!!" Trump exclaimed.

"This is awesome," gloated Musk, the world's richest man, on X-formerly-Twitter, which he also owns.

Life is good for the billionaires.
For the rest of us, not so much.

Plus, when they fuck over the economy, they will be mystified as to why their profits have gone down....you know, when ordinary people can no longer create economic activity by using currency to purchase goods and services.

In terms of climate change, they are buying remote properties in New Zealand, etc.
They think their vast wealth is the answer.

Musk is also promising a golden life on Mars.

Once the billionaires/trillionaires have most of the world's wealth they will no longer
need the people to buy the crap they sell.

They have most of the money, they can go hide from climate change and the angry mobs.

It is all right out in the open.

And we did use to have some pretense of three branches of government
and a functioning federal bureaucracy.

For decades I've KNOWN that DC is fucked up... the Gov't is NOT serving the citizens.

But here's where FATE stepped in.

Instead of ELIZABETH WARREN winning in 2016 and breaking the wheel of Gov't to start fresh... Trump did.

I believe the Federal Gov't MUST be broken... and remade.

BUT NOT BY TRUMP.

The 21st Century model of US Governance is unsustainable.

The problem is... instead of making it into a new Gov't FOR THE PEOPLE... now it's going to be a gov't for the rich/powerful/well connected.

The concepts of public service and the common good are things of the past.

The old federal government was serving the needs of the citizens way more than the new one will.

Making a $1B investment in the US? Trump pledges expedited permits — but there are hurdles

By MATTHEW DALY
Updated 6:35 PM EST, December 10, 2024

WASHINGTON (AP) — President-elect Donald Trump is promising expedited federal permits for energy projects and other construction worth more than $1 billion. But like other Trump plans, the idea is likely to run into regulatory and legislative hurdles, including a landmark law that requires federal agencies to consider the environmental impact before deciding on major projects.

In a post on his Truth Social site Tuesday, Trump said anyone making a $1 billion investment in the United States “will receive fully expedited approvals and permits, including, but in no way limited to, all Environmental approvals.”

“GET READY TO ROCK!!!” he added.

While Trump did not specify who would be eligible for accelerated approvals, dozens of energy projects proposed nationwide, from natural gas pipelines and export terminals to solar farms and offshore wind turbines, meet the billion-dollar criteria.

Environmental groups slammed the proposal, calling it illegal on its face and a clear violation of the National Environmental Policy Act, a 54-year-old law that requires federal agencies to study the potential environmental impact of proposed actions and consider alternatives.

or any form of decency.

They won't.

And they are the ones in charge of enforcement.

If an agency tries to enforce anything, well, those people get fired and replaced with others who will do as they are told.

The courts? LOL. Only Democrats follow the rulings of courts.

Stuff these overbloated public nuisances into a SpaceX phallus and launch them at some dead planet, far away.
