My values remain unchanged. I am not so sure about our leaders.

I will hold some reservation until the shit hits the fan but

Working with trump on judicial appointments
The deafening silence of our leaders
The support by some of them to pardon this mfer! Wteverlovinghell?
The disrespect to Joe regarding him pardoning his son like there is some moral equivalency between his action and Trump.

I am getting angry.

Something isn't right. I'm getting the feeling that some people previously worth of our admiration are shifting into the "go along to get along" mode. Okay, historically that certainly happens under authoritarians and dictators.

I'm not even quite able to articulate my level of agitation--I'm not panicking yet, but I'm watching everything extremely closely and not liking a lot of what I'm seeing.

If what some of us think is unfolding actually IS unfolding, my next question is where do they think their next tranche of financial support will come from? Or are the voters no longer that important now that corporations basically finance elections?

basically agreed with Ford pardoning Nixon it was one of the most disheartening, disillusioning and disgusting moments I've ever seen. It turned off huge numbers of young people in a very big way and the Carter years couldn't bring it back enough to prevent Reagan and the succession of GQP created disasters for the country.

Wed Dec 11, 2024, 04:36 PM

It has clearly been Biden for the past four years, but he is not the future. Neither are the Clintons or Obamas. Harris has virtually disappeared, and I can understand a retreat for a bit, but is she coming back? We have some excellent state governors, but no one of them is our leader. Who is out there on the news shows, on social media, writing opinions saying that we heard voters’ concerns about inflation, on migrants, on workers’ rights?

Our party could have a lot to say right now about healthcare, the historically low inflation and unemployment rates, the manufacturing jobs created with details about where, how the investments of the last four years are paying off. If Democrats fail to get any messages out, Trump and Republicans will simply take credit for everything this administration accomplished.

The silence is deafening. And I still do not know who our leader is. I believe it should be Harris, but she needs to get busy soon or she will become a footnote in history..

Trump's supporters to see high prices under the tariffs, and see food prices rise. Egg prices will continue to rise since RFK Jr. won't regulate raw milk ro control bird flu. Businesses will feel free to do price fixing again make people work in unsafe conditions.

By the time the MAGAs wake up it will be too late to blame Biden. Then they will realize they have been screwed. That's when things will get interesting. Sometimes you just have to let the laws of nature take their course. In the meantime take care of yourself.

Stopped fighting, really fighting for anything long ago. I just didn't wake up to that fact until this election.

They negotiate themselves right out the door because no-one can trust " What they stand for anymore " as it is ALL negotiable. I've been pissed since November 6.

I'm traumatized as I happen to be one of millions and millions "not worth fighting for"
I will die a hardcore Democrat, but much as Repubs need to soul search due to trump, we need to soul search for much deeper reasons as our side didn't even sell their soul for wins.

Yes, I hate the way the Democrats cave. We aren't fighting the same at all even with elections, look what they are doing there to make certain people don't vote. They are fighting dirty at all levels.

When we vote for people we need to find out who we in fact are voting in. Maybe we need a litmus test for that but also we'll likely be sacrificing other great attributes but the diplomat in Congress just isn't working anymore.

I just saw your post you linked to that was a great one.

Ford pardoned Nixon under the pretense of "healing the nation," but that's a distant memory with no bearing on today's world. Pardoning Trump would do nothing but prove to him and his fuckhead KKKultists that he has carte blanche to do literally anything he wants with no consequences, blowback or accountability.

Fuck him and anyone who calls for his pardon.

Luigi only shot one CEO. Trump was deliberately responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands,
with his purposeful COVID mismanagement---

(because he got stuck on the idea that mostly big-city Democrats were dying, and liked that idea,
which was true when the virus first hit us)
