A real life comparison, see if it rings true for you.

I worked for Diamond Resorts from 2015-2020. They would have quarterly rah rah events where they'd bring in big wigs to spew the company line.
After about a year there, the guy they brought in had the title VP of Vacations
He wore $500 leather shoes, bragged about his prior career as a diamond merchant, selling over $300 million dollars worth during his years doing that and of course went on about all the Amazing vacations he and his handicapped partner went on throughout the world.
He then proceeded to tell all the employees that were in the hall, maybe 200, that they could do the same through the incredible discounts offered to employees by the company. (They weren't incredible)
He then proceeded to ask several people what their dream vacation would be and of course he kept implying that yes, you too can have that dream vacation.
I was getting more and more pissed off with every word he uttered as 90% of the employees there made $10 bucks an hour working front desk, housekeeping, maintenance etc.
I finally couldn't keep quiet any longer and raised my hand.
He called on me and I explained how difficult it was to listen to this as most people in that room couldn't afford to vacation across the street, never mind across the planet.
He hemmed and hawed and came up with this doozy.
"You know, my partner and I had to save for our vacations too."
I got up and walked out of the hall, knowing full well If I had been an hourly employee I would've been terminated on the spot.
I have had the exact same feeling since the election as I feel like I was sold a bill of goods no better than what that ass was selling by my party.
The lesson in all this has to be that from now on, my life, my health and my joy isn't worth having to down bullshit sandwiches any more.
We all need to challenge the pollshit the Dems have been spewing and challenge every last one of them on what they stand for as a human being, not a fucking politician.
We need to consider the same advice we so often offered tepukes.
"You might have to lose a couple of elections in order to get your party back."
