According to my Republican brother in Michigan, it was about illegal immigrants.

He has a bunch of friends who also voted for Trump and he says that is why they voted for Trump. These are all college-educated people (mostly crappy colleges, but still). I asked him why people in Michigan were worried about something that was going on in border states and he said “yeah, well it’s going on in New York. Chicago is also bad. The immigrants are taking over apartment buildings.”

for construction and working on farms, I told him I’ve never had any negative dealings with them. The few times I run into them, they are buying food at 7/11 and don’t create any problems. The rich farmers and construction bosses send people down to Mexico, etc to collect the workers to be brought to our town. They live way out east of the city and mind their own business. They send all their money back to their families.

and countless other low end jobs that Americans won't take because they don't pay enough.

Who are going to “take over the country and vote the Republicans out.” And yeah - I’m betting that he would probably not want his “beautiful mind” marred by having to see Latinos in his neighborhood. Which is really a form of racism.

a 1.5 years ago, it would have helped in that respect. trump still would have used immigration, but it would have stopped rumors about roving caravans, there’s no end to the millions committed in, and worse.

I’m most concerned about immigrants — without all their papers — who have been here awhile and have contributed to society.

I get in trouble in my rube red— high immigrant population -- area for saying “They are better neighbors than you white wingers.”

When they say, marriage should only be between one man and one woman,

Then ask them: What if the man is black, and the woman is white?

Then they start spewing their racist shit, blah blah...own kind...blah blah..race mixing...

Not "the brown ones", anyway---

Well, there's those goddamned illegal Canadians swimming across the Detroit River
to buy lottery tickets and get sex change operations--

those people are even whiter than I am! (because they don't get enough sun up there,
they look like aliens from the planet)

In this state, and I suspect the other swing states, we were overwhelmed with the anti-Kamala ads about how she wanted the governement to pay for trans sex-change operations in prisons (which was actually the TRUMP policy, but nevermind that)--- those were the "Willie Horton" ads of the 2024 campaign!

I felt that the Democrats and Harris campaign needed to counteract those, but never did---
even with an ATTACK ad which had NOTHING to do with that policy

(I made a suggestion for one somewhere here, but now I forget what I suggested--
but it was something with the gloves completely off---
maybe an ad about Trump's alleged rape of that young teenager
who had been pressing charges, but ultimately disappeared,
and now no one knows whatever became of her--- )

That's what I mean about "taking the gloves off"---
yeah, the charges were never proven--- BUT---

NOBODY IS EVER HELD RESPONSIBLE BY THE VOTERS FOR ADVERTISING COMPLETE OUTRIGHT LIES ANYMORE--
as the Republicans have proven--- but on this particular issue, there were actually some court filings---

Advertise THAT one, and the LONG LIST of REPUBLICANS
who have ACTUALLY BEEN CHARGED OR CONVICTED
of CHILD RAPE and/or sexual abuse--- and RUN THAT DAY AND NIGHT
for the last week or two of the campaign---

That's what I would have done. I think GQP child rape "Trumps" prison sex-change operations,
but you have to run the ads, and run the everlasting FUCK out of them....

but Democrats are "too polite" to run ads like that...
