Thoughts on turning 80
I turned 80 today.
I had always thought the people who were 80 were old, decrepit, opinionated, cranky, shout at the TV, nap all the time, and pee every hour on the hour.
And now that I'm 80, I discovered that I am old, decrepit, opinionated, cranky, nap all the time, and pee every hour on the hour. So excuse me, I'm going to pee, shout at the TV for a while, then take a nap.

Not there yet but I'm already shouting at the TV--the thing my parents did that I would NEVER do. Things happen! 
Now I know what to expect, except I don't watch TV (for going on 40 years) so no TV shouting for me.
naively that I wanted to live until I was 80... Now that I'm 80 I realize that I need to live a lot longer... Good Luck!

You're as old as you think.
But just to hedge my bets, I'm going to use those remaining pre-80 years to post for justice on DU, to photograph the outdoors, play classical music on the piano and get out the chainsaw to trim tree limbs (If I can find the 1/3 of the pole chain saw that disappeared!) Damn.
And my good pair of Bass shoes.
Can't have it all.

Turn on some classical music on the radio or over the internet.
I recommend ( on the internet or on apps)
KUSC, WBJC, WQXR (many channels, I like Operavore the best) And "At the Opera" (see my classical music posts), That online show is preceded by a Tiki Lounge program, and I have drinks at the ready. With umbrellas!
