Sad news from the entertainment world.

Gene Hackman and his wife were found dead in their New Mexico home. A preliminary statement from the sheriff says that are no signs of foul play.

Hackman was a retired actor and his wife was a classical pianist.

Hackman was in several movies spanning several decades. He was in “Hoosiers”, “Superman”, “Mississippi Burning” plus many others.

Story from CNN an hour ago. Details of cause of death were being investigated.

It's one thing for GH to die of "natural causes". It's another thing for his wife to contemporaneously die along with him. But the dog . . . .

When all three die together within a specific time frame, I'm thinking carbon monoxide.

His wife was much younger than he was, so seems unlikely both would have died at the same time unless something like carbon monoxide leak happened.

Remarkable career…one of my favorites was “Heist” which was among his last films. He was an icon.

Mr. Hackman made quite the impression on me that day, even if I didn't understand some of what his character was doing or why.

May he, his wife and their four-legged companion rest in peace
