The leg feels heavy and flops around.

If so, it's a neurological condition caused by:
- Nerve damage (e.g., nerve injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke)
- Muscle disorders (e.g., muscular dystrophy, polio)
- Spinal cord injuries
- Certain medications (e.g., sedatives, muscle relaxants)

I have that due to spinal cord injury. But I am not a doctor, so am just musing. But FYI mine includes considerable brain fog.

Looks like a possible neurological problem. Could be a B12 deficiency which can cause your legs to buckle under you when you walk. The deficiency can also underlie dementia.
