Mineral Deal the US Offered to Ukraine

Here’s what the minerals “deal” includes:
A brief summary:
*  The management consists of 5 people, 3 of whom are from the U.S. with full veto power.
*  It covers all minerals - oil, gas, both new and existing deposits.
*  It applies across the entire territory of Ukraine.
*  Both state-owned and private companies are involved in extraction.
*  Funds are immediately converted into foreign currency.
*  The fund's money is transferred abroad. If something is delayed due to our side, we have to compensate.
*  The U.S. contribution is the aid provided to us since 2022. And they can receive profits at their discretion. They are the first to get "royalties" from the Fund (before Ukraine) +4%.
• The agreement is indefinite.
Changes or termination can only happen with U.S. approval.
*  "First rights" on all new infrastructure projects and veto power over resource sales to other countries.
*  No security guarantees. Not even a hint of them.

9. No, but it would have to be ratified by the whole parliament even if he did, and that's highly unlikely.

For one thing, Ukraine's underground resources are defined constitutionally as the property of the people, and no politician can just give them away. So unless a different accomodation could be found, the constitution would need to be amended. Can't see that being electorally popular.

...are now under Russian control. And its unlikely they will give them up. This is just an extortion to what is left. Ukraine would be crazy to accept this as it would leave them permanently poor.
