The Walls Are Closing in on Tesla

Tesla is really starting to feel the hurt — in large part due to Musk's self-inflicted wounds. Despite a share price that's slowly recovering from a disastrous year so far, the company has seen sales fall off a steep cliff in key markets, including Europe, China, and its home turf in the US.

As Forbes reports, the walls are only beginning to close in as Tesla's competitors in China are starting to make significant moves, leapfrogging the company not only in terms of sales and revenue — but technology as well.

Earlier this week, news emerged that Chinese EV maker BYD had crushed Tesla by passing the $100 billion mark in revenue last year. That's in comparison to Tesla's $97.7 billion in revenue over the same period.

BYD is also working on software directly competing with Tesla's misleadingly-named Full Self-Driving system, called "God's Eye." The top-end version of the software will make use of laser and LIDAR sensors, which Tesla infamously ditched in favor of an ............(more)

Tesla is a Welfare King. Their biggest product is selling off carbon credits and other financial schemes from grifters like Musk who milk the federal system to become a billionaire.

Oh yeah, they sell cars as a front. But now that Musk has destroyed the brand there are no more real customers.

Bye, Felicia.

P.S. with a share price like TSLA they must start making real money or the company will fail. My suggestion? Fire Elon Musk yesterday and his laughable pickup truck design fantasies. He’s a moron.

Yup, lets blame the people trying to do good, and not the people committing FRAUD. I expect that argument from a republican.

I thought Musk owned most of Telsa. I don't think people know this, because it's those people getting hurt.

Musk has a fiduciary duty to them, and he's cratering the price of the stock and destroying the brand behind what is essentially a HOBBY. If it were any other CEO, there would have already been a shareholder revolt and he would have been removed. It's completely unbelievable what Musk has done to the shareholders for his own personal side interests in politics. I think it is tortious conduct at this point and he should be sued by the shareholders.

Shareholders have a right to expect that the CEO of a company will not take public positions that outrage significant portions of the public and, moreover, are diametrically opposed to the known positions of most of the customer base. And certainly a CEO should not do either of those things on matters completely unrelated to his position at the company. There may not be a specific risk factor to that effect, but that's only because it's so obvious and so clearly included within the fiduciary responsibilities (to wit, loyalty) that nobody would view it as a possibility. Nobody buys a stock believing that the management of the company will deliberately enrage the customer base for some extravagant side project.
