I don't buy on Amazon. Last purchase was about 2019.

Now, I'm just trying not to buy anything, anywhere. I am in a red area, and even if I buy local, I'm supporting rwnj. Except for groceries, I made the choice that if I am buying food for pets and wildlife, I will grit my teeth. Otherwise, I'll avoid spending money.

(6,563 posts)Not for me. its a lifeline. Necessarily pretty much homebound, its the most efficient way to purchase things. Hate the man that owns it, but I don't always like the people I have to deal with.

(22,705 posts)I don't always like the of result things I do, but I get used to the changes. I've been boycotting things since 1972. By now, it's a reflex.

(98,883 posts)still things people who cannot cut the ties to Amazon can do to send a message, such as just buying what is necessary, and if at all possible look for alternative local venders. Depending where someone lives Costco and other stores will do delivery.
As is the case with everything some people just cannot break ties with Amazon because it would create a hardship for them.

Previously, I've disliked the management attitude toward safety and unionizing. I haven't been in love with corporate America for a long time, so this is a reasonable step for me to take.

And, over 60% of Amazon's sales are attributed to third-party, independent sellers, largely comprised of small and medium-sized businesses.
Some people need Amazon services, and recognize things aren't always black and white, or good and evil.

(22,204 posts)I am an Amazon user, for multiple reasons that would take too long to go into here, and I refuse to feel guilty about it. I know some people act like it's evil personified, but as you say, things are NOT always black and white!

(29,487 posts)I have never given a nickel to Amazon. Among other things, he's turned downtown Seattle into a ghost town.

I'm glad we still have choices about how we spend money and who we buy from.

(2,753 posts)but my mom has it and I use hers for the few things I stll buy there. Mostly just just cheap staples that are a pain to go shopping for but there can get a bunch of disparate cheap crap in one order and free shipping rather that pay a bunch of seperate shipping charges that would be more than the items cost.

(24,486 posts)If you're into boycotting, leap if you feel froggy. With over 200 million members they will never know you are gone.
Most successful boycotts are local and focused and boycotting Amazon Prime is neither of those and really only means something to you.

(893 posts)I don't buy much but for some things, it's the best source. Eliminating all the right wingers from my purchases would mean I can't buy much of anything. Please don't hate me.

(215 posts)I don't have it but it always tries to funnel me into it. What is the word for that? i can wait for stuff. Amazon has been a big help for me with electrical components.
