1. He would have filed papers already. In 2017, 15 minutes after his Inauguration, Trump filed papers for re-election in 2020.
2. He would be raising money for his campaign in 2028. He isn't.

(3,400 posts)... that, if It were elected in '24, no one would ever have to vote again. The implication being that It won't leave office no matter what happens, which sorta negates any need for campaign funds, or to file papers for re-election. It's just gonna stamp Its little footies and howl about witch hunts until the conservative SCROTUS majority gives It a legal binkie, and says, "There, there, now calm down and go back to destroying everything that ever made America great again."

(79,741 posts)Who will make him fill out paperwork?
Trump has just stolen the entire US federal budget.
And he rigs elections.
No need for paperwork, money, or votes.
Underestimate Trump at your own peril.

His perception is that there will be no functioning election apparatus by then.

(473 posts)He's not RUNNING for a third term. He thinks he's just going to take it and it will be never-ending (assuming he's alive and/or still in power). Pretty sure by that point we'd be post-constitutional anyway.
