in the way he cites antisemitic reasons to reign in the school institutions,
"It accused the university of failing to protect Jewish students and promoting “divisive ideologies over free inquiry.”"
https://www.democraticunderground.com/100220194988
but his supporters and even his Administrative appointees are anti-semitic?
"Far-right podcaster with ties to Trump orbit calls for 'final solution' -- to deport Jews"

And, of course, there's Stephen miller.
I admit all this duplicity is getting me goggled eyed. Any way the Universities can use this Administrative inconsistency to sue the Administration to stop them from using federal funds in their extortion scheme?

(54,075 posts)Pushed, they will say that the Left, the ever useful Left bogeyman, has taken over the universities ever since Obama and that it is subverting the minds of innocent young adults, turning them into pronounless anti-capitalist zombies.
Anti-semitism is just their hypocritical flimsy excuse to squeeze academia into making rightward fascist turns and also "save" Federal money to give to billionaires, most of whom went to top-tier universities.
It's all Project 2025 stuff that tRump ate and excreted into poorly understood executive orders that he doesn't read, but accepts what his minions say and signs them.

Any other thoughts??

All the DEI crap is just a distraction- meanwhile F47 puts Cash Patel & Tulsi Gabbert in high government positions.

Their embrace of antisemites is no accident. It's not a one-off. It's not out-of-character. It's not anything new. It's very much in keeping with all their other bigotries and beliefs. Trump attacks Jewish people all the time. From the anti-Jewish tropes against George Soros to claiming Shumer is no longer Jewish to saying Jewish people who vote the Democratic Party are not "real" Jews and they hate Israel.
Trump and the rest are not pro-Jewish. They are your typical bigots.
Right-wing evangelicals are not pro-Jewish. They are pro end-of-times - and that includes being pro-Israel in that context. Jewish people have a role to fill in those end-of-times beliefs, but once they fulfill that role, they are no longer needed. They are incidental - unless they fall on their knees and see the error of their ways and become Christians.
Trump courts the support of those same evangelicals.
It's all very transactional on Trump's part.
Miller is a white supremacist - which would be funny considering the history of white supremacist groups and their hate of Jewish people - unless you consider his need for acceptance as being like everyone else (he viewed as the thing to be). That he wants to be seen a certain way and accepted a certain way, and it isn't as a Jewish man - he wants to be seen as a white man like the white boys and men he went to school with who are not Jewish. For Miller, his Jewishness is incidental to his identity - but his white skin is everything to it.
