Ballot Shortages Reported in Milwaukee

Milwaukee election officials are reporting ballot shortages at voting sites due to what they say is “unprecedented high turnout” in Tuesday’s election, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Officials urged patience and said confirmed that anyone in line by 8 p.m. will be able to vote.

Sorry, I have to add the (hope) because I'm superstitious. I believe it was in Ohio where there was a record turnout to vote for Issue 1, which was an amendment to protect abortion rights. This high turnout despite Ohio passing a law prior that required a DL ID to vote.

So I'm hopeful this is a very good sign for Democrats. Even though it's concerning that people have to wait longer for their ballot, I think if people are that motivated to vote, they will stand in line as they need to.

"anyone in line by 8 pm will be able to vote"

hopefully that means that even if they have to wait until more ballots are delivered.

And hopefully there won't be too many people in that line who would be unable to wait.

If it is true that it is due to "unprecedented high turnout" and not a major f-up in supplying ballots to the polls, then this is really good news.
