It has grown into an enormous mass protest. 8 days ago there were 570, this is a BIG deal as far as activism goes. I've never seen a movement grow so quickly and I've been an activist since 1980. Americans are angry!

(52,829 posts)With Howard Beale/Perer Finch's photo from the film Network, shouting, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!". Everyone knows that famous line from the film. Maybe I'll start that chant when we start marching. I can be LOUD if I have to (I taught elementary school and am good at it).
A few years ago I made a 2-sided sign for a pro-abortion protest and on one side was a wire hanger (a real one) in a red circle with a slash through it and on the other side I wrote "No More Wire Hangers" the famous line from Mommie Dearest. A woman who runs the local Women's Museum asked if she could have my sign so I gave it to her and made a whole new one for myself.

(14,423 posts)Millions would be a good number.
I’ll be at the Columbia SC Statehouse, where 40,000 marched in 2000 to take down the rebel flag (which did come down).

(14,423 posts)I bought it in 2018, but couldn’t wear it during Biden’s term. It was maga red and everyone would have assumed that it was directed to Joe.
But I’ll have it on Saturday.

(282 posts)These protests will average like 10 people outside of a couple in major cities. I am really sick and tired of being the LONE protestor in my galactically apathetic dumbed down city. Why aren't people getting fucking serioooouuussss!!!!!!

(97,146 posts)Ten people? Well at least that’s the few, the proud, the dedicated core.
Are you willing to drive an hour if there’s nothing nearby? Are you willing to share a ride, carpool, etc?

(10,512 posts)Now that we took the Supreme Court and we can breathe easier here, we're just going to work on our Hand's Off signs, and hopefully sleep a tiny bit easier this week. It's been super stressful this past three weeks.
Jill Underly also won for State Superintendent of Education which was also vitally important for our future here in Wisconsin. She was running against an unqualified anti-public schools crusader who wants vouchers and charter schools and parental control over curriculum, among other things.
