(54,808 posts)He posted at 7:44 pm.
I replied at 7:47.
He informed us of his stroke at 7:52. That was after my post and the first I ever was informed of his unfortunate event. So I sent him best wishes. After the fact. And now you scold me because it was after the fact.
In my universe I can only send someone best wishes after I am informed, not before I am informed. I don't know about your universe.

(54,808 posts)By the way, the possessive form of the contraction "its" has no apostrophe.
There, you will be overjoyed. You now have a pretext to rage again at me for daring criticism.

You made a 'funny'.

(196 posts)I was snarky too. I didn't see the BIG error on the headline, just the silly one on the picture.
And, to be extra fair, When you have "teacher" in your name--people do love to point out mistakes. I totally get that. LOL...on twitter they eat you alive for it.
I'd say "all forgiven"-- but nothing to forgive except I should have said "thank you" for pointing out the error!

(19,119 posts)Regardless your first post just sounded pissy to me. If you were suffering from a bad mood when you replied to the OP, then best wishes that your evening improves.

(54,808 posts)It seems that he and I are more on the same wavelength than you are. Is everyone except he and I so sensitive to the slightest criticism that they, like you, take offence? I even used an ironic tone to gently point to it (too gently as it turns out). I had no idea he had a stroke and neither did you or did you know? Relax. Chill out.

(196 posts)LOL..I didn't see that one after several proofings. The goof on the picture was bad enough!!
Man... the sad truth is, lol, my first job out of college was as a copy editor. I may have lost some skills since then!

(196 posts)but did a post about the stroke a few months ago that sat on the front page for a day. So, for some people who saw the post, they know all the gory details. People have been very protective of me and super sweet. No way you could have known all that, and I was snarky to throw it at you and mean to set you up like that. I'm sorry for that.
And, we're not talking about DJT sitting at 16.66 for the next 11 hours. Which should have us all laughing.

(54,808 posts)Apology accepted because it is tendered in good faith, though there was no need.
The 666 is funny. Carry on.

Sorry you had a stroke. Best wishes for recovery.

(196 posts)I have a rule for posts anymore. I write it, proof it, then walk away. Later, I read it backwards for spelling, then forward to see if I see anything weird. But, my mind messes up rhyming words and homophones and I generally can't see the mistakes no matter how hard I look.
It is super anxiety causing because the media has picked up my tweets and social media posts on quite a few occasions. I have to be able to back that stuff up and to make crazy mistakes is not helpful and to undermine my own professional standing is painful.
I run stuff by my proofreader (husband on the other end of the couch) most often but he wasn't around to keep an eye on me!

(91,459 posts)I did see a post on Twitter that said trump and family dumped a lot of their Truth Social. Your post tells me why they did so.
On edit...Get well soon.
