Adolescence Is #1 on Netflix--and It's Got the Manosphere Shook

Hi Friends,

This week I wanted to share my thoughts on the hit Netflix show adolescence. It has been the number one show on Netflix for 4 weeks straight and has amassed somewhere around 100 million views making it Netflix’s most popular English speaking show.

It stars Stephan Graham and Owen Cooper, who made his acting debut in the series.

The show deals with topics like the manosphere, red pill, incels, and the coded language teenagers use to communicate ideas around the topics.

This set reminded me of my own struggles as a young man and how things could have gone very differently for me.

The best thing about it was how it touched on all of the parties. It was a damning condemnation of the so called manosphere.

Powerful performances, but at the end of the day just another incel whine of "it's not my fault!"

Title didn't appeal to me - expecting a rom-com, coming of age. It's neither of these. You learn very early on the truth about the murder - video evidence, so it's not a who did it, but why. Definitely recommend, especially part 3 which is an interview with psychologist.

From brilliant writing to genius acting to deep compassion for all characters, this is riveting and tender.
I wish every parent, teacher, well, every human would see this.
Thank you to all who worked on Adolescence.
