LEAVITT: That's not quite true
REPORTER: The justices also said the deportees are entitled to due process
LEAVITT: That's not quite true
So, this Supreme Court is a nightmare, but all nine justices did say due process is required in deportations.
So, does that make this embarrassment of a press secretary
- A terrible liar (maybe the worst liar Ive ever seen)
- Remarkably and extraordinarily clueless
Or
- A gaslighter of the worst degree?
Because I think a serious argument could be made for two of these, if not all three.

(130,278 posts)and down saying she was dumb. What if she was told tariffs will mean income tax is ended. That tariffs would replace income tax. The progressive taxation would be over. Rich a**holes have wanted this for a long time because they don't want to pay their fair share of taxes.
Trump has mentioned ending them twice: once during the campaign, once after the election. In the Wednesday tariff presentation he mentioned how stupid it was for income tax to be implemented in 1913 and would not even mention Teddy Roosevelt's name. He did the same speil on income taxes being awful in his Oval Office presser with Netanyahu.
So was Karoline Leavitt stupid when she said tariffs were a tax cut..... you be the judge.

(2,928 posts)Again, like I mentioned in an earlier post, the 20th Century has been called the American Century, but its not like tariffs had anything to do with that.
Its hard to figure out if shes stupid, per se, though very much a possibility, but gaslighting/lying are two definite traits of hers.

be a huge tax cut for the 50% of Americans, the well off or middle class who pay income tax, if Trump gets away with it. Was that what was in her head is what I am asking?

(130,278 posts)The US in 1870 to 1913 had desperate poverty and child labour. No rights for POC or women. It was horrible. And the poor and the middle class would pay all the taxes. No No No we don't want that.

(811 posts)The SC said the deportees must have due process in the place where they are imprisoned/detained
So if Trump SS force flies them to Texas and imprisons them there, they will have their due process there. Likely with known judges who support lawless deportation.
So, a win for Trump and his extradition, rendition, SS style.
