Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent canceled a planned appearance on Capitol Hill Wednesday before a group of House Republicans.
Bessent had been scheduled to address the Republican Study Committee lunch, where he was expected to discuss President Donald Trump’s global tariffs that took effect Wednesday, the ongoing market turmoil and plans for tax cuts, among other subjects.
