House GOP campaign arm raises $35.2M ahead of Trump fundraising dinner
The chair of House Republicans’ campaign arm, Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), said the committee raised $35.2 million ahead of its dinner with President Trump on Tuesday, according to a source familiar with the matter.
Trump is slated to attend the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) dinner, a key fundraising event for House Republicans, on Tuesday.
The staggering haul is a boon to Republicans as they look to defend a narrow majority in the lower chamber next year.
Hudson told Fox News earlier on Tuesday that Democrats “hold a structural advantage when it comes to fundraising.”
