A 14-year-old boy, an American citizen from North Jersey, was shot and killed by Israeli military forces in the West Bank on Sunday.

Amer Mohammed Saada Rabee, formerly of Saddle Brook, was shot along with two other teenagers in Turmus Ayya, a town in the occupied West Bank where many Palestinian Americans live or own homes, the wire service Reuters reported.

The Israeli Defense Forces said in a statement that its troops opened fire on three people, killing one, after identifying “three terrorists who were throwing rocks at a highway with civilian vehicles" and "who posed a danger to civilians."

“Amer was shot by Israeli military officers along with two other 15-year-olds from the village,” the [Palestinian-American Community Center] said in a statement. “The ambulance was not allowed to pass the checkpoint for 30 minutes, a denial in medical treatment that ultimately resulted in Amer’s death. Amer’s death was entirely preventable and horrifically unjust. He was a child, a 14-year-old boy, with an entire life ahead of him.”

Regardless of what anyone thinks of IDF or Hamas, I would surmise that anyone throwing rocks at IDF in Gaza is probably not a wise life choice...

Shoulda stayed in Jersey and his parents need their head examined for taking him to Gaza in the first place.

I'm always amused that "throwing rocks" is innocent, when it's a means of execution. And those excusing it wouldn't want to be be pelted with pebbles, much less rocks.

They weren't hurled at IDF, but at "civilians". People like you and me or your sister (if you have one) or mine.

Not sure it's worth killing them over, but it's also not good to defend them. I have enough "that's wrong" in me to condemn both.
