Exactly what we need - Another bloviating asshole. -
No thank you. I don't care that he sometimes supports democrats. He's a damn asshole.
Speaking at the National Association of Broadcasters Monday, the ESPN host said people have been pressing him about getting into politics.
ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has reversed his previous stance and is now open to the possibility of running for president in 2028.
Speaking at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Smith told interviewer Mike McVay that while he initially had no desire to enter politics, recent developments have caused him to reconsider, Barrett Media reported.
Over the last few weeks, Ive had no choice but to get more serious about it, Smith said. Ive been approached by people on Capitol Hill, governors, mayors and other elected officials who have legitimately and seriously asked me about running.
Smith, who previously dismissed the idea despite some polls showing him as a potential top Democratic candidate, now says hes keeping his options open.
Im no longer going to close that door, he said. If it comes to late 2026 or 2027, and I look at this country and think its an absolute mess, and theres legitimate reason to believe I have a shot to win the presidency, I am not going to rule it out.

(6,203 posts)He has a style that makes him come off as no nonsense. He's not overly cautious when he speaks. If he can translate the way he talks about sports to politics it could be interesting.

The way he over enunciates certain words and or syllables is like fingernails on a
chalkboard (I am old). Stephen A Smith is why Jesus invented the mute button on
remotes. Btw I like sports too.
