I once heard those words from the mouth of a lab tech who was showing me around the facility. We came to a storage cabinet containing a gallon jug of ethyl alcohol (denatured by addition of methyl alcohol, rendering it hazardous for human consumption). I noted the ethanol, and he cautioned, ‘yeah, it’ll get ya drunk…but don’t drink it, dude.’ Sounded like the voice of experience to me.
