Blue checks are coming to Bluesky!
It's an interesting hybrid model that combines centralized verification (Bluesky says you're legit) with decentralized verification (an outside org says you're legit).

Elon Musk so completely torched Twitter's verification system that some people's understandable first reaction is to assume Bluesky's version will be monetized and meaningless. It's hard to remember back to the time when it was helpful! But it was—which is why people were angry when Musk ruined it
