Holy Shit - Rob Reiner and His Wife Michele Were Killed by Their Son (Exclusive Sources)

https://people.com/rob-reiner-wife-michele-were-killed-by-son-sources-11868856

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed by their son, Nick, according to multiple sources who have spoken with family members. Police have not yet confirmed the account.

On Sunday, Dec. 14, at about 3:30 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) was called to a home to provide medical aid, the LAFD told PEOPLE. Upon arrival, they found a man, 78, and a woman, 68, dead. Sources confirm the victims were Rob and Michele.

Police say Nick, 32, is alive and being questioned. No arrests have been made.

It’s bad enough to leave this mortal soil before your time, but to leave by your son’s hand?
Prayers to the family. Rob will be missed in this political circus.

It's not a philosophy forum, but just thought it seemed obvious to suggest.

edit: already I see an "out" you could still have free will, but it's more like execution by other at the appointed time no matter what you're doing. But if you really had to be at a certain place and time for it to happen, that is deterministic and probably lacking free will at least at the end of life.

A horribly violent weekend with the Brown University shootings, Antisemitic Bondi Beach massacre, the parricide murders of the Reiners....what the ever-loving fu*k is going on in this world?

Hate won this weekend. Thanks, right-wing asshats!

He has no money of his own, and his parents probably cut him off.

He had nothing to walk away to.

8. He wasn't homeless, he was living on the streets
He always had a home with his living parents. I think it is disrespectful of them to refer to him as homeless, as it implies they had turned their backs on him.

confirmed it is reckless for "people magazine" to push this headline out.

It wouldn't be the first time misreporting happened though.

Look at what they did to Richard Jewell who was an American security guard who alerted authorities that he found a backpack with pipe bombs at the Centennial Olympic Park bombing at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, and helped evacuate the area.

"Rob Reiner’s son, Nick, was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department early Monday after the deaths of the Hollywood director and actor along with his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

No charges were listed in the arrest of the 32-year-old, according to the booking statement. Bail was set at $4 million."

It is a pretty reliable source, much more reliable than TMZ and other online sources.

It is legit. It was originally started by Time Inc. It isn't a Murdoch outfit.

I found this article in the Guardian. "family member is being interviewed" -- https://www.theguardian.com/film/2025/dec/15/rob-reiner-director-harry-met-sally-found-dead-with-wife-michele-singer-reiner

I believe you're correct that we shouldn't jump to conclusions and just let the details come out - the NYTimes was careful yesterday in their wording. It's all very sad.
