Tell me CBS isn't a propaganda outfit now? 60 minutes is going to have a spot about the KY Bourbon barrel

….. industry tonight but are they going to cover all the problems with that industry and
that major corn liquor such as Jim Beam are closing their operations in KY because
Trump’s tariffs and policies has caused real problems with the industry.

Cloudy future for bourbon has Jim Beam closing Kentucky distillery for a year

Or maybe I’m just nuts?

that they were airing it to try to give the industry a boost (it was framed as "what is bourbon? How is it made? yada yada" puff piece) with free publicity/demand creation.

Seemed to me to be carrying water for The Dotard by trying to mitigate the damage he has caused.

I just don't buy red state swill. Washington State liquors, Scotch, Irish, Japanese, Canadian, you name it. Just not the hillbilly shit. They voted for Trump; they can cry while he destroys their economies.

My choice lately is red wine. But tonight it's Jameson.

My spouse and I were in Canada in April and one store vendor told us that they still love American spirits however they made a decision to limit their supply to products produced on the west coast that didn't vote for drumpf.

Without the Canada situation. I was “on site” in Mexico with a tequila manufacturer earlier 2024, and they were running out of storage and discussing dumping product. The last 7 years especially saw a proliferation of bourbon and tequila boutique brands plus massive capacity expansion at major distilleries. That boat has sailed. Consumption is heading south quickly with new generations drinking less and the ozempic effect.
