that major corn liquor such as Jim Beam are closing their operations in KY because
Trumps tariffs and policies has caused real problems with the industry.

(18,633 posts)that they were airing it to try to give the industry a boost (it was framed as "what is bourbon? How is it made? yada yada" puff piece) with free publicity/demand creation.
Seemed to me to be carrying water for The Dotard by trying to mitigate the damage he has caused.

My spouse and I were in Canada in April and one store vendor told us that they still love American spirits however they made a decision to limit their supply to products produced on the west coast that didn't vote for drumpf.

(1,004 posts)Without the Canada situation. I was on site in Mexico with a tequila manufacturer earlier 2024, and they were running out of storage and discussing dumping product. The last 7 years especially saw a proliferation of bourbon and tequila boutique brands plus massive capacity expansion at major distilleries. That boat has sailed. Consumption is heading south quickly with new generations drinking less and the ozempic effect.
