"How do you share a country with people who reject reality?"

I believe THIS is what has to happen when we get out from under this.

She makes some really good points : we might have to legally limit anti-democratic projects, definitely teach ambiguity tolerance and find a way to create authoritarian off-ramps. The lessons from Germany can not be forgotten.

Instead of accepting things like evolution, most societies strive to believe that we human beings were created by some sort of supernatural entity, and are not at all like the rest of the animals on this planet.

In fact, we persist in believing that everything is governed, in the end, by that same supernatural entity, which is supposed to be watching us constantly and which will save us from ourselves when necessary.

Reality is what science studies. Real cause and effect. Real physical laws that are derived from reason, not fantasy.

We are a species that acts independently from supernatural concepts and physical realities. We are also a species that has a tendency to look for magical explanation for things that are difficult to understand. Different societies have created different belief systems and tend to hate the societies which believe in different belief systems than we do. So we go to war with the "others."

No reality is involved. Only fantasy and wishful thinking.
