And yet it seems like it will slide off his Teflon like everything else. Only way he loses his knuckle draggers is if they go broke. And even then it will likely only lose him a third of them. Which is likely within the margin he figures he can steal on election day anyway.
Or maybe I'm too cynical and pessimistic. Or maybe not.

MY fear is that he and Musk (in the background) are going to mess with the machines and vote tallies.

(11,069 posts)What makes you think they will accept any elections that don't end with them staying right where they are? Or, allow anyone else to take over when they lose?

(4,980 posts)A concern.
But the GOP have to realize that the entire current House membership is out of work effective with the end of this Congress in January 2027. They cant just waltz in and take their seats and work, at least not technically.
AND
As far as the Senate, I read an analysis of the seats not up for the-election and it leaves Democrats in the majority. So, the GOP would be screwing themselves if they want to contest and invalidate this November election.

(11,069 posts)Everything that is being said about this is still contingent on those freaks leaving their positions when said election occurs.
I am saying that they won't. Not without being dragged away, kicking and screaming. Which could get nasty.
Are we prepared/preparing for that possibility? Because based on the past year, I would say we are not.

(4,980 posts)I have no clue how easy it will be for the US Treasury to continue sending paychecks to members of the Senate no longer elected. And same with the entire House. Will it just be a matter of an Executive Order by Trump to continue to pay them. And to allow them to serve unconstitutionally?
Yes, you are right. They can just decide to do it I suppose.
