Trump laid the foundation for Republicans in the next election...

...in his SOTU speech last night.

He wants all his supporters and all Republicans to know one thing: Democrats cannot win unless they cheat.

He wants to do away with mail-in voting and require an legitimate ID in order to vote. The purpose of this scam is to suppress and minimize the number of people that vote, thereby increasing Republicans chances of keeping the House and Senate. They are calling it the "SAVE' Act.

We will undoubtedly hear this "spiel" from every Republican from now until the election. How many people will buy into it?

But, this is the direction and the issue Republicans are running on. Democrats want to run on the economy. Which is the most powerful issue? The voters will decide.

Starting today, the right-wing propaganda machine will turn up the rhetoric and the division and the racism, in hopes of maintaining power.

Will it work?

If the election is very close, but Democrats win a small majority, will JD Vance certify the election? What happens if he does not?

Are those legitimate questions?

We should focus on real issues. Tangibles, with metrics.

If they pass the Save act, they still have to motivate MAGA to show up, with their birth certificates and passports. If any of them have ever seen those documents.

Carnival barker creates fantasies, straw men, and gins up outrage. We need to make a lot of noise too. A lot of noise.

House of Representatives and US Senate votes are certified at the state level.

That doesn't rule out shenanigans in red states. But JD is not a player in certifying the 2026 elections.

There once was a speech on the Hill,
By Donald Trump with formidable will,
He warned with a grin,
“Dems only win
If cheating just foots the bill.”

He rallied his party to say,
That fraud lurks wherever Dems play,
“Mail ballots must go!
Bring ID to show!”
Thus paving the GOP way.

They branded a bill with some flair,
The SAVE Act—“secure and quite fair!”
Yet critics all claim
Its practical aim
Is trimming who gets to vote there.

From now until ballots are cast,
Each stump speech will echo it fast,
“A rigged, crooked scheme!
A radical dream!”
A message intended to last.

The Dems, for their part, will insist
The economy tops every list,
With wages and price
Their central device—
While voters decide what’s amiss.

The airwaves will buzz day and night,
As pundits prepare for the fight,
With rhetoric loud,
To rally the crowd
And frame it as wrong versus right.

If margins are slender and tight,
And Dems claim a narrow-scope right,
Will JD Vance then stand
To certify as planned—
Or kindle another long night?

Are questions like these out of line,
Or signs of a system’s design?
In a republic’s test,
The voters know best—
And history tallies the fine.
