Trump's push for voter-ID law hits filibuster wall in Senate.

WASHINGTON—President Trump has one big ask for the Republican-controlled Congress: Impose strict new voter identification requirements nationwide ahead of the midterm elections.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R., S.D.) had an answer for Trump on Wednesday: Not looking good.

On Tuesday night, the president used his State of the Union speech to ratchet up pressure on Thune to find a way to pass the SAVE America Act, which would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Democrats vow to block it, saying the measure could prevent or deter millions of legitimate voters from casting ballots.

“Congress should unite and enact this common sense, country-saving legislation right now and it should be before anything else happens,” Trump said. The president, who has falsely claimed that the 2020 election was rigged against him, said that the only way Democrats can win elections is to cheat. “We have to stop it. John,” Trump said, calling out Thune by name

It would seem to me that fewer and fewer MAGAT Repukes are willing to do Trumpedo's agenda.

I thought he was trying to get his proof to be able to vote. That's the way I read this thing. Does that mean if you're already registered, you're good?

This link is broken, btw.

but from my take, even if you're registered and had to show proof of citizenship, that's not good enough for Trumpedo and the MAGAts' when you show up at your polling place to vote, you again have to show proof of citizenship, which would disenfranchise millions of citizens.

As we get closer to November the pressure and stress on him will get exponentially greater. Maybe he will explode before the midterms actually happen. Or at least bust an artery in a crucial part of his body
