House Oversight panel votes to subpoena AG Pam Bondi in Epstein probe

The Republican-led House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena US Attorney General Pam Bondi for testimony about her role in the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files as part of the committees probe into the late convicted sex offender.

GOP Rep. Nancy Mace moved to subpoena the attorney general and it passed 24-19, with bipartisan support. Mace was joined by Democrats and fellow Republicans Tim Burchett, Michael Cloud, Lauren Boebert and Scott Perry.

Ahead of the vote, Oversight Chairman James Comer told the committee he had spoke with the attorney general’s chief of staff, and that Bondi had offered to give members a briefing – a few at a time – regarding the Department of Justice’s Epstein files.

Pam Bondi subpoenaed by US House in Jeffrey Epstein investigation
Republicans join Democrats to vote 24-19 to approve motion to compel US attorney general to testify

Five Republicans on the House oversight committee joined with Democrats to subpoena the US attorney general, Pam Bondi, as part of the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The House oversight committee voted 24-19 to approve a motion introduced by Republican representative Nancy Mace to compel Bondi to testify. In addition to Mace, Republican representatives Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Michael Cloud of Texas, and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania voted for the motion.

In an X post announcing the motion’s passage, Mace wrote: “The American people want answers on the Epstein files, and so do we.”

The motion comes amid growing criticism from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle of the Department of Justice’s failures regarding the Epstein files, including accidentally releasing the names of survivors and redacting,

A few months ago I saw an article about emails (on govt computers Im guessing) between DOJ employees mocking her incompetence and her name. Not a good day for Pamela Jo. etc.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pam_Bondi

In 2019, after her final term as Florida attorney general, Bondi was hired by Ballard Partners and she began working as a registered foreign agent and lobbyist for Qatar.[47] Her work with Qatar was related to anti-human-trafficking efforts in advance of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.[48][49] She left the Qatari project in 2019 to work in a temporary position for the White House Counsel for President Trump's first impeachment proceedings.[48]
As a partner at Ballard Partners, she also became a lobbyist for KGL KSCC, a company incorporated in Kuwait.[50] Bondi was lobbying for the Kuwaiti company to help with a case of claimed extortion.
