3. Iran was using some s-400 anti aircraft systems. Same as China.

Iran shot down zero planes. Venezuela used older S-300 systems. They shot down nothing.
The performance of those systems has to give China pause. They are obviously ineffective against US aircraft. China is also now short of oil shipments due to the conflict. I believe those two things combined will at the least push that thinking back.

the question still is, will the US be too engaged in the ME to mount an effective defense of Taiwan, even if it does decide to get involved? I hope you are right - it really would be WW3 if that happened.
